My name is Melissa Damms. My role in school is Teacher.
I am so proud to be part of Team YA. The YA Way and the way that we work is important to me because I truly believe that children who feel valued and feel safe are able to develop the confidence to take risks in their learning and build resilience. Being part of the YA community means supporting every child to shine and reach their full potential in a nurturing way, and I am committed to making a positive difference in their learning journey each day.
I love working at Yarborough Academy because we have a strong, hardworking school community and it feels like we are one big family. Being a class teacher here is a privilege, and I feel fortunate to contribute to such a caring and ambitious school community.
Three words my family and friends use to describe me are creative, dedicated and kind-hearted.
