My name is Emma Harries. My role in school are Teacher and Assistant SENDCo
I am so proud to be part of Team YA. The YA Way and the way that we work is important to me because I truly believe that children deserve a champion—an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection, and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be!
I love working at Yarborough Academy because it truly feels like a family where everyone knows every child and every child is valued and supported as an individual. In my role as a teacher and assistant SENDCo, I am able to work closely with children to support their academic, social, and emotional development in a nurturing and inclusive environment. Children are encouraged to express their feelings, build confidence, and develop independence, while learning is made fun, engaging, and accessible for all.
Yarborough has a strong commitment to inclusion, ensuring that every child’s needs are understood and met through tailored support and strong collaboration with staff, families, and external professionals. The school also places great importance on staff development, providing ongoing opportunities for training and professional growth. The supportive team ethos and shared passion for helping every child succeed make Yarborough a truly rewarding place to work.
Three words my family and friends use to describe me are energetic, caring, and fun-loving.
